Obituary for James Bruce Shanholtzer

James Bruce Shanholtzer, 87 of Falling Waters, passed away on Sunday, January 11, 2015 at Homewood at Williamsport.

Born April 22, 1927 in Berkeley County, WV he was the son of the late Ernest Lucas and Blanche Fern Swisher Shanholtzer.

He was a veteran of the Navy and Army.

He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and a member of the Knights of Columbus. He was a member of several faternal and social organizations.

He is survived by his wife, Bessie Leona Stotelmyer Burkhart Shanholtzer; two sons, Craig J. Shanholtzer and wife, Michelle, and Neil B. Shanholtzer and wife, Beth; two step-children, Roger L. Burkhart and wife, Anne, and Deborah M. Bennett and husband, Terry; four grandchildren, Sarah Panek, Alison Clark, James P. Shanholtzer and Alex Shanholtzer; five step-grandchildren, Amy Davis, Katherine McDonald, Matthew Burkhart, and Blake and Alex Bennett; one great-grandchild, Mia Panek; seven step great-grandchildren, Victoria Davis, Andrew Davis, Sienna Bryson, Ben McDonald, Kennedi Bennett, Sean Bennett, and Morgan Bennett.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Elsie E. Brichner Shanholtzer; and two sisters, Fern Horner and Reba Williams.

Family will receive friends on Wednesday, January 14, 2015 from 6 to 8 pm at the Brown Funeral Home.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, January 15, 2015 at 10 am at St. Joseph Catholic Church with Father Eric Hall celebrant.

Interment prayers will be said at Rosedale Cemetery.
