Obituary for Vivian Marie Detter (Morgan)

Vivian Marie (Morgan) Detter, 94, of Martinsburg, passed away Wednesday, December 3, 2014, at the Berkeley Medical Center.

Born December 10, 1919 in Berkeley County, she was the daughter of the late Alva Rea Morgan and Ethel (Hull) Morgan.

Mrs. Detter had worked for the C. H. Musselman Company, Perfection Garment and the Berkeley County School System.

She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church.

She is survived by her children, Dolores Detter, Kenneth Detter and wife, Sarah Love, and Connie Marie Catrow and husband, Jack; one grandchild, Kimberly S. Hatfield and husband, Paul; two great grandchildren, Kollin and Katie Hatfield; one brother, John Morgan and several cousins, nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, James Franklin Detter; one son, Melvin Wayne Detter; one granddaughter, Dana Beth Detter; four brothers, Melvin Morgan, Ray Morgan, George Morgan and Francis Morgan; and two sisters, Thelma Coleman and Lucille Morgan.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Sunday, December 7, 2014, at the Brown Funeral Home.

Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, December 8, 2014, at Brown Funeral Home with the Rev. Dr. Ken Walker officiating. Interment will be held at Rosedale Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of the Panhandle or Trinity United Methodist Church or the charity of one’s choice.
