Obituary for William Richard "Bill" Callahan

William “Bill” Richard Callahan, 85 of Kearneysville passed away Sunday, October 19, 2014 in the V A Medical Center. Born May 14, 1929 in Ashland, Kentucky, he was the son of the late Willis Green Callahan and Novella Abrams Callahan. Bill served in the U S Army, was a veteran of the Korean War. He worked as a concrete finisher for William A. Hazel Co. and A & A Builders. He was a Life Member and Past Commander of the VFW Post #3522, Charles Town American Legion Post #71 and past member of the Charles Town Moose. He is survived by his wife of fifty nine years, Patricia Ann Logue Callahan, two daughters, Marena “Nena” Callahan and Kaye Mills and husband Alvin, all of Middleway, grandson, Jason Mills of Martinsburg, six great grandchildren, Jessica, Aidan, Peter, Lily, Patrick and Theresa Mills, step brother, Jack Perry of Moorehead, KY. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by brother, Delbert Callahan, step brother, Garland Perry and half brothers, Edward, Brent and Francis Callahan, sister, Pat Callahan and step sister, Geraldine Brown. A memorial service with military honors will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, October 25, 2014 at the St. Thomas Lutheran Church with the Pastor Lee Brumback officiating.
