Obituary for Helen Virginia Wilson (Manspeaker)

Helen Virginia Manspeaker Wilson, age 99, departed this life September 12, 2014 under the care of Hospice of the Panhandle. Born in Martinsburg March 30, 1915, she was the daughter of the late George Ernest and Pearl Beeler Manspeaker. Attending St. John School, she later graduated from Martinsburg High School and Shepherd College, teaching in several Berkeley County Schools. She was of the Methodist faith.

Helen is survived by a son, Jon W. Wilson and wife, Helen, of Martinsburg; a daughter, Barbara W. Ellis and husband, Marvin, of Hedgesville, with whom she made her home. Additionally she is survived by grandsons, Shawn Wilson and wife, Michele, of Martinsburg, Brian Ellis of Valencia, Pennsylvania, and Brendon Ellis and wife, Laura, of Hedgesville; four great-grandchildren, Michael and Andre'a Wilson, and Elizabeth and Kristina Ellis; sisters, Joan Staubs, Martinsburg, and Norma Pappada, Niles, Ohio; and nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her step mother, Anna Davis Manspeaker, and sisters, Ramona Schell and Dorothy Snavely.

Services will be private.

Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of the Panhandle, 330 Hospice Lane, Kearneysville, WV 25430.
