Evelyn Mae  Spies
Evelyn Mae Spies went to be with the Lord on September 3, 2014 at her home in Hedgesville.
Born October 30, 1920 in New Oxford, PA she was the daughter of the late John and Bessie Herman.
She was of the protestant faith. She read her Bible daily and each day would pray for her family. She was a full-time homemaker.
She is survived by her daughter, Barbara Spies Scott, Deborah Shickle and her husband, Terry, Cynthia Clarke and husband, Harvey, son, Wayne Spies and wife, Lois Jane, Donald Spies and wife, Tina, Glenn Spies and wife, Telena, David Spies and wife, Sandi, Danny Spies and wife, Michelle; ten grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren; a brother, Richard Herman and a sister-in-law, Margaret Herman; brother-in-law, Floyd Spies and his wife, Jeannette; several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Clyde Spies, a son, Stanley Spies, grandson, Robert Shickle; great-granddaughter, Lane Shickle; and brothers, Raymond Herman and The Rev. James Herman; a sister, Ethel Shorb and her husband, Carroll; sister-in-law Dottie Herman, brothers-in-law, Roy and wife, Edie, Harvey and his wife, Verna, Glenn Spies and his wife, Margaret.
A Celebration of Evelyn's life will be held on Monday, September 8, 2014 at 1:00PM at Brown Funeral Home South Berkeley Chapel in Inwood, WV with her daughter, Rev. Dr. Barbara Spies Scott officiating, assisted by Rev. Tom Snyder.
Memorial contributions may be made to Rev. Barbara Spies's Service to Others, 963 Crossroad School Road, Hedgesville, WV 25427 and to the Rev. Thomas Snyder, Back Creek Valley Full Gospel Church, 131 Norman Silver Drive, Hedgesville, WV 25427.
