Linda Kay Shatzer, 67, of Bunker Hill, went to be with the Lord on Friday, August 29, 2014 at the Inpatient Hospice Facility, after a courageous battle with breast cancer.
Born February 9, 1947 in Berkeley County, she was the daughter of the late Charles F. Kipps and LaHue L. Burke Kipps.
She is survived by her husband of 50 years, Carl Melvin Shatzer; one son, Carl M. Shatzer, Jr. and wife Zoraida B. of Beaverton, Orgeon; one daughter, Teresa L. Shatzer of Martinsburg; two grandchildren; Crystal S Espie and husband Matthew L. , Christine M. Ashton and husband Eric M.; one sister, Julia "Judy" McCormick of Greencastle, Pennsylvania; two brothers, Charles F. Kipps, Jr. of Martinsburg, Steven Wayne Kipps of Martinsburg; and a number of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Family will receive friends Tuesday, September 2, 2014 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Brown Funeral Homes' South Berkeley Chapel in Inwood.
Funeral services will be 1:00 PM Wednesday, September 3, at the chapel with Rev. Scott Truman officiating. Interment will be held in Rosedale Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of the Panhandle 330 Hospice Lane Kearneysville, West Virginia 25430.
