Obituary for Lola Virginia Bender (Pierce)
Lola Virginia Pierce Bender, 91, of Martinsburg, passed away on Sunday, August 10, 2014, at her residence.
Born July 14, 1923, she was the daughter of the late George R. Pierce and Sarah (Wise) Pierce.
She was employed by Interwoven Mills and work there until the factory closed.
Mrs. Bender was a member of Johnsontown Church of the Brethren.
She is survived by one son, David W. Bender and wife, Sandy, of Martinsburg; one granddaughter, Sarah Leonard and husband, Mark, of Newark, Ohio; four great-grandchildren, Hayden and Mckenlee Powell and Aubree and Carson Leonard.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Samuel O. Bender; one son, Samuel E. Bender and two brothers, George Calvin and Luther Lee Pierce.
Funeral service will be held at 10:30, Wednesday, August 13, 2014, at Brown Funeral Home with Pastor Dennis Rhoe officiating. Interment will be held at Rosedale Cemetery.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Johnsontown Church of the Brethren or Hospice of the Panhandle.
