Obituary for Edith Demarious Weigle (Potter)

Edith Demarious Weigle, 91, of Hedgesville, passed away on Sunday, July 13, 2014, at Heartland of Martinsburg.

Born March 20, 1923 in Morgan County, she was the daughter of the late Michael E. and Carrie D. (Fox) Potter.

She was a member and lifetime Deaconess of the Johnsontown Church of the Brethren and a member of Hedgesville Chapter #67 O.E.S.

Mrs. Weigle retired from National Fruit in Martinsburg..

She is survived by her twins sons Marvin D. Weigle and wife, Marietta, of Martinsburg, and Maurice L. Weigle and wife, Robin, of Berkeley Springs; daughter-in-law, Barbara Weigle, of Martinsburg; five grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; three brothers, Lester Potter, of Hedgesville, Cecil Potter of Hancock, MD, and Sherman Potter of Martinsburg; and two sisters, Elsie Lenore Reed and Clara Mae Hovermale, both of Clear Spring, MD.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Marvin L. Weigle on March 5, 2013; one son, Franklin D. Weigle; two sisters, Pauline Rinard and Icy Shane; and three brothers, Ercel Potter, Melvin Potter and Curtis Potter.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, July 16, 2014, at the Johnsontown Church of the Brethren with the Rev. Dennis Rhoe officiating and assisted by Pastor Larry Wescott. Interment will be in Johnsontown Cemetery.

Family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, July 15, 2014, at Brown Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Johnsontown Church of the Brethren Cemetery Fund.
