The Memorial Candle Program has been designed to help offset the costs associated with the hosting this Tribute Website in perpetuity. Through the lighting of a memorial candle, your thoughtful gesture will be recorded in the Book of Memories and the proceeds will go directly towards helping ensure that the family and friends of William Kisner can continue to memorialize, re-visit, interact with each other and enhance this tribute for future generations.

Condolence: Altho I only new Shug for a short time, as a fellow employee at Wholesale Tire, I developed a great respect for him, and was privileged to hear many stories about the old days in Martinsburg from him. So sorry to hear of his passing, condolences to all his family, from myself and my wife, Annie.

Condolence: Mrs. Kisner and family, my heart goes out to you in your loss of your precious husband, father, brother, grandfather... I met him as Sheriff while working at the Welfare Department and we made a home visit together. He was such a life force in this community; his kind will never be replaced. May God wrap His arms of love around you all and comfort you now and always.

Condolence: The community has lost a great pillar. I had the privilege of knowing him when he came to visit his son David and family because my grandparents lived next door. He always took time to talk and he never made you feel unimportant. He will be sadly missed by all who knew him. May God carry you through this difficult time. Love and prayers, Cheryl

Condolence: I met Shug when he operated the service station. I delivered parts to him and we became friends. I think all can agree, you couldn't find a better friend. He was truly a pillar in the community. May he rest in peace and watch over all of us as he did on this Earth.

Condolence: What a blessed man Shug was to have such a large family to share his life with before the real celebration of spending eternity with our Lord Jesus Christ. May the Lord fill the void in your lives that Shug once filled, and carry you to the day you see him again. "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life". John 3:16.

Condolence: I am so sorry and saddened to hear of Mr Shug's passing. I will sorely miss shaking his hand (such a firm handshake) as he entered the front door of TLR. Though only for a short time did I know the great man, but I felt as if I knew him for a lifetime. My condolences to the entire Kisner family. Take comfort in knowing that he is with our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ. You will be in my prayers.

Condolence: I had the privilege of first getting to know and working for William "Shug" Kisner in the Berkeley County Tax Office and his years as a commissioner. He was always fair, honest and a wonderful boss, he never met a stranger. I always considered him to be a dear friend. He will be missed by all who knew him. My condolences go out to his family and friends at this difficult time.
