Obituary for Evelyn Rose Spiker (Thompson)

Evelyn Rose (Thompson) Spiker, 85, of Williamsport, Md, went to be with her Lord on
Saturday, February 22, 2014.

Born January 14, 1929 in Martinsburg, she was the daughter of the late Ernest Thompson and Mabel (Parson) Thompson.

Mrs. Spiker was employed as a secretary for the Jamison Door Company.

She was a member of the St. Andrews Presbyterian Church of Williamsport.

She is survived by her husband, Homer Clinton Spiker, Jr.; one son, Michael Small and wife, Joanne, of Baltimore; one daughter, Cynthia L. Gagne and husband, Glenn, of South China, MI; four grandchildren, Timothy Small and wife, Megan, Gregory Small, Jessica and Jennifer Gagne; three great-grandchildren, Andrew, Hannah and Hunter Small; and two sisters-in-law, Genevieve M. Brown and Jean Spaulding Thompson, of Martinsburg.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Rev. Paul Thompson.

Services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, February 25, 2014, at Brown Funeral Home with Rev. Mark Sandell officiating. Interment will be held at Rosedale Cemetery.

Family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Monday, Feb. 24th, at the funeral home.

It was her request that contributions be made to the Alzheimer’s’ Association, 1601 2nd Avenue, Charleston, WV 25387.
