Obituary for Betty Marie Sherrard (Baker)

Betty Marie Baker Sherrard died peacefully in her sleep February 14, 2014, at Shenandoah Center, in Charles Town.

She was born in Martinsburg on November 19, 1925, to Roy H. and Ruth E. Baker.

She and her husband donated their bodies to the West Virginia Donor Registry Program.

She is survived by her daughters, Deborah Combs and her husband, Donald Combs, and Pamela Sherrard; and sister-in-law, Mary "Key Key" Baker.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William D.; infant daughter, Barbara Ellen; son-in-law, Edward Keesecker; brother, Claude L. Baker; brother-in-law, James Sherrard; and sisters-in-law, Anna Hartle and Frieda Sherrard.

Betty was a 1943 graduate of Martinsburg High School and Strayer Business College in Baltimore.

She was employed by C & P Telephone Company.

She was a member of the Inwood United Methodist Church.

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m., February 22, at Inwood United Methodist Church, True Apple Way, with Pastor Charles Henry and Pastor John Brooks presiding.

The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 p.m., one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will be privately held at Gerrardstown Presbyterian Cemetery.
