A veteran who has served honorably in the United States Military
is entitled to:
- A flag
- A grave monument
- A cash benefit for a veteran with a service connected disability
- Burial in a national cemetery
A copy of the discharge papers, the Enlisted Record of Separation (DD214), is
required and must be provided by the family so that Brown Funeral

In addition to other Social Security benefits, a one-time
death benefit not to exceed $255.00 may be available to an
eligible surviving spouse or an eligible child or children.
Brown Funeral Home will complete a "Funeral Directors
Statement of Death" which can help in applying for benefits.
It usually requires about two months for a survivor to start
receiving Social Security benefits. Contact the Social Security

details.
